TUB NASI LEMAK, ANYONE?

Hands up to those who have had nasi lemak recently. Ok, hands down, you did well. We would love to hear more about your experience. You can leave a comment below.

Now hands up to those of you who haven't had or have never eaten nasi lemak or coconut rice before!

Now hands down. Shame on you 😜. Now go head to the nearest restaurant that serves nasi lemak and order a plate. Must try it, savour every bite and then leave a comment below about your "life changing moments".

So for those who have not heard or tried it, (are you sure we live in the same planet?) let me share with you what you are missing out on.

Nasi lemak is a traditional dish made of steamed coconut rice, fried peanuts, cucumber, egg and sambal. Nowadays, you can add just anything on the side such as chicken, meat, squid, prawns etc.

This classic dish is widely eaten in Malaysia and Singapore. It is commonly consumed as breakfast or at anytime of the day! It is usually sold at the roadside stalls in Malaysia and Singapore or hawker food centres. Fortunately now, it is available in most restaurants serving local food either in Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, United Kingdom and worldwide! So PLEASE TELL ME if you have tried it!

If you haven't, then go head to the nearest restaurant that serves nasi lemak.  it's almost sinful if you haven't! 😅

Nasi lemak is traditionally wrapped in banana leaf which is the classic way to enjoy this tasty meal or sometimes known as nasi lemak bungkus (packed).

So when I first heard about the tub nasi lemak, my imagination went wild! I mean, who would have thought someone will come up with the idea of nasi lemak or coconut rice packed in a tub! It's way beyond my or anyone's imagination! I was thinking, what is this tub nasi lemak or coconut rice tub? I have tried a dessert called Nata de Coco, or coconut jelly, a sweet and smooth Filipino jelly packed in a tub.

But nasi lemak in a tub?

I was so curious  and couldn't resist to find out more!

Then I saw a Facebook post showing a photo of the tub nasi lemak by Khesyaan Kitchen halal restaurant based in Huntingdale in Melbourne, Australia.

"Wow!" This is so unique!

I need to see how this is packed, served and how much the price is.

I saw a video of the restaurant owner, demonstrating the nasi lemak tub and how it is served. Ooohhh! I like what I see already! A whole tub of nasi lemak! Who can complain about that???And for AUD18.90, that is certainly good value!

If you live in Victoria, Australia, do make your way to Khesyaan Kitchen and try it out! Come back here and leave a comment and share some photos!
